While perceptions and opinions take time to change, we have statistics to illustrate our hard work. Though more robberies, rapes were reported this year, the fact is that every case reported was registered, investigated and solved. Besides, cases of snatching and motor vehicle theft are lower than ever.

But groups such as senior citizens, women residents and students travelling late at night feel vulnerable.
There is a well laid-out plan for deployment especially after dark. The public can approach specially-appointed night GOs over phone, besides our 17 ERVs. We have tightened regulations for bars and discos and police is deployed there till 3am, two hours after they shut shop. If we weren't active at night, 28 Mewati criminals wouldn't have been caught.

What are you doing for a better interface between the police and public?
There are many initiatives which have been launched, such as 'Yuva' in which we have included young adults from slum colonies of Haus Rani and Khirki villages. In all, the details of 7,522 children below the age of 10 have been added to our database. We have 2,500 senior citizens on our database. Currently, we have children from slum clusters assisting policemen during night patrolling in various areas. Soon different police stations will be training them in soft skills.
