Perfect seat on the plane is 6A 
Washington: The perfect seat for passengers on a plane is 6A, as it combines maximum comfort with convenience, a new survey has found.
The poll of over 1,000 airline passengers questioned respondents on their seat preferences, including which section and whether they chose window, middle or aisle seats. The poll also delved deeper to find out if choices were influenced by lucky numbers as well as odd or even row numbers.
Combining these responses, flight search engine ‘Skyscanner’ found that the most sought after seat on a standard aircraft is seat 6A. PTI

106-year-old gets Best Dresser award
Tokyo: A 106-year-old academic who has been recognised by Guinness World Records as the oldest person to have travelled around the world using public transportation has received a special “Best Dresser” award.
Saburo Shochi, an educator and professor emeritus at Fukuoka University of Education, received the honour at a ceremony for the 41st Best Dresser Award held in Tokyo on Wednesday.
“The key to fashion is to change your clothes every day,” Shochi, who showed up in a yellow suit, said cheerfully, to big laughter. Kyodo

Women prefer thin men over macho
New York: Women find thin men more attractiveas potential partners rather than those who look ‘macho’, according to a new study.
Macho features have long been touted as an evolutionary asset that heterosexual women look for in a potential mate but researchers said weight may be a more powerful driver of attraction as they found testosterone levels were more closely linked with weight than with macho looks.
Researchers in South Africa found that while women do respond more favourably to the faces and bodies of men with strong immune responses, they seem to cue into fatness and thinness, not macho features, when making their judgements.
Macho features such as a strong jaw and squinty eyes advertise that a guy possesses high testosterone, according to the immunocompetence handicap hypothesis. PTI

Flashing a smile gets men their way  
Washington: All men need to do is flash a smile at a woman to get her to do his bidding, as suggested by an European study. 
The University of Granada study in Spain also found that women assumed a more narrow and submissive posture when a man smiled at them. This man’s “perceived warmth” explained the woman’s behaviour.
Body language expert Patti Wood said the findings were troubling but that it could be because women rely on body language more than men to make decisions.  IANS
