A source reveals, "Anurag personally designed the entire set of the event. He didn't want anyone else on board and it was simpler because he knew best what he wanted." The set included a typical Mumbai chat street cart and a golawala (ice candy stall), which Anurag even playfully posed with.
This is the third time this year that a filmmaker has recreated parts of Mumbai city as a promotional strategy or as a set for their film. Earlier, the Aamir Khan-starrer Talaash saw its music being launched in a set that was designed as a sleazy hotel from the film. Sanjay Gupta spent well over Rs. 2 crore to transform a schoolbus into 1970s era BEST bus for an action sequence for his next, Shootout At Wadala.
Ugly is a co-production between Phantom and DAR Motion Pictures. It's a small budget film starring Ronit Roy, Tejaswini Kolhapure, Vinit Kumar Singh, Vipin Sharma and TV actor Rahul Bhatt. Anurag is kicked about the project that is slated for release next year.
