Party sources said Thackeray will hold meetings with key party functionaries in and outside Mumbai.
Through these meetings he will gauge the mood of the party cadre and find out what needs to be done to strengthen the Sena in the run-up to the 2014 parliamentary and assembly elections.
He will also tour Thane, Nashik, Ratnagiri in Konkan, Aurangabad in central Maharashtra and Kolhapur in western Maharashtra and hold meetings with the party’s local officebearers and elected representatives.
Party sources also said that in Mumbai Thackeray would hold meetings in all six parliamentary constituencies.
For the past few months, Thackeray was not in touch with party functionaries except a few top leaders and close confidants because of various reasons. Now, in the changed circumstances, the party functionaries need guidance on organisational issues.
Uddav’s exercise is also seen as an attempt to show that the Sena will not get weakened following his father’s demise on November 17.
