Cash subsidy scheme for fertilisers would be introduced for farmers very soon, Union Chemicals and Fertilisers Minister M K Alagiri said on Sunday. Initially it would be introduced in Madurai, he told reporters here. Necessary steps were being taken to open new fertiliser factories in all states.

He alleged that the AIADMK govenment was not able to control outbreak of dengue fever at Melur in the district and demanded that necessary steps be taken to contain it.
