A Delhi court on Tuesday sent Sukhdev Singh Namdhari's PSO Sachin Tyagi to three days in police custody.

Tyagi, who was arrested on Monday night, was remanded in police custody by Metropolitan Magistrate Neha. The court said, "In view of the submissions made in the application for the recovery of other weapons, the accused is remanded in police custody till December 7."

The crime branch of Delhi Police had told the court that Tyagi's custody was required as he had allegedly confessed during interrogation to his involvement in the conspiracy to trespass into the Chhattarpur farmhouse where the shootout took place.

The police said Tyagi had shot at Hardeep Singh as per a plan hatched by him, Namdhari and slain liquor baron Ponty Chaddha.

Tyagi's counsel Ranbir Singh opposed the prosecution plea for police remand, saying his client had co-operated with the agency since the day of the shootout and that his custodial interrogation was no longer required.

Ponty and Hardeep had been involved in a property dispute, which had led to the shootout on November 17 afternoon in which both were killed.

So far, the police have arrested 10 people, including Tyagi and Namdhari, in connection with the incident.

All the accused have been charged with offences such as criminal conspiracy, attempt to murder, dacoity, assault, destruction of evidence, trespass, illegal confinement and kidnapping.

Namdhari has been booked on charges of murder.
