Delhi transport minister Ramakant Goswami has said a large number of complaints were being received from commuters over violation of routes, rash driving and overcrowding by Gramin Seva vehicles. He said the transport department had constituted 10 special teams to tame drivers and owners of such vehicles. "They will not be allowed to violate rules and regulations as it could result in the disruption in smooth flow of traffic and accidents," he said. 

Goswami instructed the department to keep a close eye on all Gramin Seva vehicles plying in various parts of the city and take strict action against violators in the best interest of the commuters and the general public.

The department has also issued show-cause notices to e-rickshaws dealers in the city. The government had earlier decided to stop the sale of e-rickshaws in the city till they were brought under some regulatory authority.    

He said the government was taking all necessary steps to check the black-marketing of auto-rickshaws in the Capital. 

"It has been decided that on recurrence of such incidents in the future, the department would register FIRs with police," he said.
