“Is it the decision of the government and its supporters that they will not allow the House run?" Jaitley asked. “If the government and its supporters continuously disturb the House, the leader must come and explain whether they want the House to run or not," Jaitley said. The prime minister is the leader of the House in Rajya Sabha.
"As far as we are concerned, we are ready for a debate in the House," said V Narayanasamy, minister of state in the prime minister's office.
The upper House was earlier adjourned till noon after BSP members created a ruckus, demanding a memorial for BR Ambedkar.
When the House met at 12, minister of state for parliamentary affairs Rajeev Shukla said the government will take a decision on the issue.
However, the House was later adjourned for the day by deputy chairman PJ Kurien amid din.
