In yet another case of carjacking, an unidentified man posing as a parking attendant allegedly sped away with a woman’s car here on Wednesday. Damyant Kaur Bedi, resident of Madhya Marg, DLF City Phase-2, told the police that when she was parking her car near the Central Arcade market on Tuesday afternoon, an unidentified man offered her help to park the vehicle.

As soon as Bedi handed her Hyundai i20 (HR26BV4853) to the unidentified man, the latter sped away with it.

Bedi’s son Jyoteshwar told HT, “My mother parked the vehicle and was on her way to the market. She was approached by an unidentified man who asked her to move the car as a vehicle had to offload some material on the site. The man offered help and took the car keys from her. He looked about 30 years of age. The man reversed the car and sped away from the spot.”

Initially Bedi thought the unidentified man was parking her car at another location, but before she could realise, he had fled from the spot, the police said. The victim immediately informed the police control room. A case has been registered at the DLF City Phase 2 police station.

A similar case was reported in the area on September 3 wherein a Palam Vihar resident’s car was stolen.
