Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would visit the Punjab Agricultural University(PAU) here on December 8. He would visit here on the occasion of golden jubilee celebrations of the university. Keeping security in mind, the Ludhiana police commissionerate had earlier sought extra manpower from the state and department last month.

The police officials were also visiting the PAU campus for preparations.

Keeping the security of the PM in mind the police commissioner Ishwar Singh had also banned carrying weapons at public places using special magisterial powers under section 144 of the CrPC on November 22. The orders would remain in effect till December 31.
