A 65-year-old man died and his wife was injured when they were hit by a speeding Santro car in south Delhi's Hauz Khas area on Wednesday night. Police said the couple was walking towards their house from a nearby temple when they were hit by the car. "BK Ahuja and Pratima Ahuja were returning from the temple when the car hit. Ahuja succumbed to his injuries later while the condition of his wife is said to be stable," said a senior police officer.

The car could not be traced but the police have arrested the man who was driving the car.

"Amit, brother of a senior Delhi government official, was arrested. Amit lost control over the car while speeding," the officer added. A case of rash and negligent driving has been registered.
