These party leaders, including some office-bearers, former presidents and former mayors, threatened to sit on hunger strike at the party office if the voters list for the ongoing intra-party election was not made public.
The letter, a copy of which has been sent to senior leaders and incharge of BJP affairs, claimed that the ongoing process of internal election was not transparent.
Meanwhile, BJP leaders refused to come on record on the issue. When contacted, Sanjay Tandon said, "Disciplinary action will be taken against individuals who don't maintain party decorum. No one has come to me or written me a letter with all these allegations. If people have a problem, they should come forward and speak. I have learnt that there are few persons who are going around forcing people to sign the letter containing charges against me."
