The play is an adaptation of a popular Marathi play of the same name. It deals with romance and finding love at a mature age and the complications of evaluating its long-term implications.
About her stint in theatre, Poonam says, “Theatre is a more difficult visual medium than films. You need to hold the attention span of the audience without goofing up and be able to express yourself as vividly as possible.”
Directed by Anand Mishra, the play has been lapped up by theatre connoisseurs across the city. Poonam explains her decision to do theatre at a phase in her career when she felt more confident about her skills.
“Not many people rush for niche plays. But I wanted to make sure that this play reached groups other than regular theatergoers, who understand the prominence of a good play,” says Poonam.
The actor is excited to perform as part of the HT for Navi Mumbai initiative. “I am looking forward to performing. It is a kick-start for cultural activities in this part of the city and will make inroads for a plethora of future acts,” she says.
The play free and entry is on first-arrival basis at the Agri Koli auditorium, Nerul at 6 pm.
