On the second consecutive day on Sunday, the Pakistan army resorted to heavy firing on the Line of Control in Krishna Ghati sector in Poonch.
In the past few days, the Pakistan army has targetted more than 10 Indian forward posts in the Krishna Ghati area being manned jointly by the army and the BSF. "Pakistan troops fired more than 300 rounds from small arms and six RPG shells between 7.15am and 7.30am on Sunday morning, which was not retaliated by the Indian troops," said SN Acharya, defence PRO at Jammu.

As per sources, on Sunday evening also Pakistan troops resorted to heavy firing about 5.30 pm, which continued at the time of filing this report. The sources added that the evening fire was equally retaliated and there was no loss of life or property.

The sources further added that recently a 'dummy' Indian forward post had been taken over by Pakistan troops which had become a reason of tension between two armies and more medium to heavy skirmishes on the LoC were expected during next few weeks. The PRO defence said he had unofficial information about the evening firing, which had to be confirmed.
