Chasing a daunting target of 410 was never in mind of the Delhi batsmen but they aimed at batting out three session in order to get three points from the vital away match.
Save veterans Mithun Manhas who scored 80 and Rajat Bhatia who chipped in with 63, none of the other Delhi batsmen were ready to put their head down and fight it out.
The 'Old Warhorses' added 110 runs for the sixth wicket after Delhi slumped to 76 for five in the first hour.
Manhas and Bhatia batted for nearly 38 overs and it looked like they might be able to draw the match.
