Officials from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that though the temperatures will remain cool, the mercury might not see a sharp dip in the next 48 hours. The IMD forecast says the minimum temperature on Wednesday will dip slightly to 18 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature will be 31 degrees Celsius.
"The winds over the last 24 hours have become northerly and north-westerly, bringing in chilly winds from the north. This wind pattern has caused both maximum and minimum temperatures to drop. It is unlikely that there would be a major drop in morning temperatures," said VK Rajeev, director, western region, IMD.
During the same time last year, the minimum temperature in the city was 16.4 degree Celsius while the maximum temperature between December 9 and December 11 was around 35 degrees Celsius.
