A girl student was allegedly stabbed by her friend's brother at Fergusson College premises on Tuesday, police said.

The victim, Tejal Rajendra Gorde, was talking to her friend Pooja Jadhavrao in Fergusson College premises, when Pooja's brother Anmol Jadhavrao came there in a car and allgedly stabbed her with a knife on her stomach and shoulders, police said.

Tejal was rushed to the nearest hospital immediately, Chatushringi police sources said.

A case has been registered against Anmol under Section 307 of the Indian Penal Code at the Chatushringi police station.

Police sub-inspector SK Sakhare is investigating the case.

The reason behind the attack is still unknown, the police said.
