All India Sikh Students Federation(AISSF) on Monday released a list of 63 Sikhs including 28 Sikhs belonging to armed forces which they claim were burnt alive on November 1, 1984 at Tuglakabad and Nangloi railway stations in New Delhi when anti-Sikh riots broke out in different cities of the
Addressing a press conference, AISSF president Karnail Singh Peermohammad, accompanied by All India Defence Brotherhood, Punjab president Brigadier(retd) Kuldeep Singh Kahlon said that a number of Sikhs belonging to Armed Forces were also killed during November 1984.
The ranks of those who fell victims to the riots include Lieutenant Colonel, Major, Captain and Lieutenants.
Peermohammad said the documents obtained by AISSF reveals that a single FIR Number 355 dated November 1, 1984 lodged under sections 147, 148, 201, 302, and 295 of the IPC lodged with Government Railway Police (GRP) Delhi. He alleged that the Railway Protection Force (RPF) responsible for law and order at the Railway property not only failed to protect but its weapons were also used to kill the Sikh victims at Tughlakabad and Nangloi Railway Stations.
“Since armed forces have not spoken on the issue. The silence is criminal as armed force is sitting over the matter for past 28 years, union ministry of defence should prosecute the culprits and political leaders who masterminded the mayhem,” demanded AISSF President.
“Murder of high ranking officers in presence of Railway Police during riots also proved the connivance of police,” he further pointed and demanded debate in the Parliament to determine why the broad-day light mayhem of the defenders of the country was completely ignored and no action was ever taken.
Asking Punjab government and SGPC to intervene, he demanded that a judicial commission be set up for thorough probe.
He said a time bound probe should be initiated. He said that federation would gherao Union defence minister, union railway minister and union home minister if the action will not be taken against accused.
He demanded that in the ongoing session of Punjab Assembly, the incident should be condemned. Brigadier Kuldeep Singh Kahlon said that the defence community in particular and the country as a whole would like to know from the chiefs of Army Navy and Air Force action taken report on the burtual killings of the defenders of the Nation by own countrymen.
Monday's list released by AISSF includes Lt Colonel AS Anand (74 Armoured Regiment), Major Sukhwinder Singh (150 Field Regiment), Captain IPS Bindra (63 Cavalry), Captain UPS Jassal (9 Assam Battalion), Captain Partap Singh (Ordinance Corps), Lieutenant SS Gill (89 Armoured Regiment) and Flight Lieutenant Harinder Singh.
