Garhi Chaukhandi Rape Case
Place: Garhi Chaukhandi, Noida
Case: Eleven boys had raped a 24-year-old MBA student on January 5, 2009. She was returning from The Great India Place Mall in Noida with her friend while the accused were on their way home after playing a cricket match. The girl’s friend claimed the accused stopped their car by brandishing cricket bats. They got in and drove the car near Garhi Chaukhandi and raped her. The Gautam Budh Nagar district court, on the request of the victim’s friend, transferred the case to Delhi’s Tis Hazari Court. He had also moved the Supreme Court seeking transfer of the case alleging the accused and their families had been repeatedly issuing threats, telling him to withdraw the charges.
Status: All the accused were arrested the next day. They were released on bail later.

Ghaziabad/Noida rape case
Place:  Noida/Ghaziabad
Case: On March 13, 2012, a 23-year-old woman was abducted and raped in a moving car by a neighbour and his friends. The woman, who was travelling to Gurgaon in search of a job, was offered a lift by her neighbour Vinay Sharma in Ghaziabad. He drove her to Noida where he asked her to board another car with his three friends. The four drugged her and then raped her. They dumped her near Hoshiyarpur village in Noida Sector 51. Noida police, however, refused to register a case as the woman had been abducted from Ghaziabad. Later, the Vijay Nagar police station in Ghaziabad registered a case.
Status: Three of the accused - Vinay and Manish Sharma of Ghaziabad along with Noida resident Deepak Yadav - have been arrested. The fourth accused is yet to be caught.

Dhaula Kuan Rape case
Place:  Dhaula Kuan, south Delhi
Case: The incident took place on November 26 when a 30-year-old BPO employee was walking towards her home in Moti village near Dhaula Kuana in South Delhi early morning along with one of her colleagues. Four men, in a tempo, abducted her and took turns to rape her in the moving vehicle. She was later dumped in Mongolpuri after which she approached police. The police scanned through over 600 tempos and released sketches of the accused on the basis of the description given by the victim. The police raided Mewat in Rajasthan also to arrest the accused.
Status: Two of the accused Shamshad and Usman were arrested while the other two accused were on the run.
