The local police on Tuesday arrested a juvenile for raping a minor Dalit girl.

Two other under-age friends of the main accused were also arrested, for conspiring, but not raping the victim at Byana village, near here. The fourth juvenile accused of hatching a conspiracy, is still absconding.

The official spokesman of the district police said that the 17-year-old victim had gone to a bookshop on December 14 when four accused, known to her, kidnapped her and sexually assaulted her at a shop in the nearby market.

Acting on a complaint filed on December 15, the police arrested three accused under Prevention of Children for Sexual Offense Act, rape, SC/ST Act and other charges.

The three were sent to judicial custody by a local court on Tuesday.
