A suspended police constable, Dharmendra Verma, was caught with a stolen two-wheeler by Alambagh police on Monday night, during a special vehicle checking drive. Posted in Gonda district, Dharmendra had been caught with stolen vehicles earlier as well and is under suspension at present.

According to a statement issued to the press by the police department, the actual registration number of the two-wheeler with which Dharmendra was caught was UP 32 CR 6175 but he changed the number to UP 43 P 9074.

He was caught when he tried to escape the checking drive near Blunt Square.

When he saw the cops, Dharmendra tried to take a U-turn, making the policemen on duty suspicious. They stopped him and found he had no documents of the vehicle.
