The Himachal Pradesh Congress Legislature Party (CLP) will meet in Shimla on Friday to elect the state's new chief minister.

Delhi chief minister Shiela Dikshit, AICC general secretary Janardhan Dwivedi and Congress incharge for the state Birender Singh will attend the meeting, Dwivedi told reporters, a day after Congress ousted BJP from power in the state with a wafer-thin majority.

Former chief minister Virbhadra Singh, who was made the PCC chief on the eve of elections and who ran a spirited campaign, appears to be a front runner in the chief minister's race.

He has already said that Congress President Sonia Gandhi will decide who the chief minister will be.
