Katy Perry, who got divorced from Russell Brand after only 14 months of marriage, showed her mature and caring side by congratulating the British comedian for staying clear of alcohol and drugs for 10 years. The 28-year-old singer apparently emailed Brand to say how “proud” she is of him, and how her heart is “finally healing” following the couple’s split.

“Although they’ve broken up, Katy knows how important this milestone is for Russell,” the Daily Mail quoted a source as telling the Sun.

“She wanted to let him know that she was thinking of him and that she was still proud of what he has achieved,” the source said.

Brand, 37, wrote on his Twitter account last week, “10 years clean today. Thanks for all your messages of love. Thanks @schullerinc for the film. Anyone can get clean, one day at a time.”
