Principal secretary health Praveer Krishn said a statewide integrated transportation system would be set up involving 2,000 vehicles extending the facility of free transport to all patients and accident victims.
He said a central call center would be established for this, the call center will have Janani Express vehicles, Deendayal Mobile Hospitals, 108 vehicles, government ambulances and private hospital ambulances on call. All the vehicles would have a global positioning system (GPS).
He said ambulances running under Janani Express Scheme used to deal with delivery cases only but after connecting these ambulances with 108 call canter, these ambulances can be utilised in all the emergency cases.
Krishn said the motive of connecting all the ambulances with 108 call centre was to establish integrated transportation system in the state so that people can get ambulance at their door step on one call.
