It's one thing to not be able to race in motorsport's top tier because of your time being up due to age or lack of performance. However, to not be able to race in Formula 1 due to an injury not even sustained in an F1 race has to be truly galling. Poland's Robert Kubica has admitted as much to British newspaper Daily Express that it's a difficult pill to swallow.

"I find it difficult to watch F1 races," he said. "I miss racing, that is the biggest problem. After the race, when I am at home, I think I am living a boring and monotonous life."

Kubica sustained an injury in a rallying accident prior to the start of the 2011 season that led to his right forearm being partially severed.

The Pole has rehabilitated to the point of being able to compete in rallies again.
