“Since the film is high on masala, the makers wanted a catchy and over-the-top title. Rambo Rajkumar fits the bill perfectly,” confirms a source. Although not much is known about the storyline, the flavour of the film is believed to be close to Shahid’s role in Vishal Bhardwaj’s Kaminey (2009).
Earlier, Prabhudheva had dismissed rumours of the title being finalised as Namak. “I don’t know how this name came about, but this is not it. The movie is for the masses, and we will come up with a suitable title,” he had said.
When asked for a clarification about the new name, he says, “I can’t say anything about the title. The producers have big plans to launch everything, including the film’s name.”
Meanwhile Shahid, who is currently shooting for Rajkumar Santoshi’s Phata Poster Nikla Hero in Mysore, is very excited about the project. The insider says, “He is eagerly looking forward to working with Prabhudheva. They seem to have become great friends of late.”
