The cabinet that met here decided to hold the first assembly session at Dharamsala headquarters of the state's most political significant district Kangra that has always held the key to formation of government.
The first session of the assembly will commence on January 8. In a decision what was evident, the cabinet gave its nod to review the decisions taken by the previous government during the past six months.

Chief minister Virbhadra Singh presided over the first cabinet meeting. Virbhadra expressed gratitude to the people of Himachal Pradesh, particularly the electors, for their overwhelming response to the Congress party.

The cabinet also adopted the Congress party manifesto as policy document of the government. It was also decided to terminate all extensions and re-employments forthwith.

It was decided to convene the four-day assembly session of the 12th Vidhan Sabha at Dharamsala from January 8. The election of speaker and deputy speaker will also be held.

The cabinet decided to frame policy for the PTA teachers. All notified schools which were closed during the past five years would be reviewed. It was decided that the employees who were on secondment basis in the secretariat and were reverted back to parent departments would be taken back in the secretariat.

It was decided that the criminal cases registered on political grounds and for political agitation, where no violence and breakage was involved, be withdrawn.

Ministers hail court's decision
Reposing faith in Virbhadra Singh, the ministers hailed the judgment of special court (forest) in the CD case for acquitting Virbhadra Singh and his wife Pratibha Singh and said that finally truth in the case prevailed.

The cabinet said that the truth had finally prevailed. They said that the verdict has totally exposed the nefarious designs of the Dhumal government which was out and out to somehow implicate Virbhadra Singh in false cases with political intentions.

They said that Dhumal and other BJP leaders feared immense popularity and mass acceptance of Virbhadra Singh and wanted to sideline him by foul and immoral means and had been fabricating false cases to achieve their selfish motives all throughout their tenure.
