"The unedited video tapes and photographs will be examined by forensic experts to identify people who were involved in violence and assaulting the police constable who unfortunately lost his life," a senior officer said.
He said the police will record statements of those who will be identified with the help of video clips and photographs.
The police has now changed the attempt to murder charge, mentioned in the FIR registered at the Tilak Marg police station, into murder.
The FIR was registered against unknown persons under sections of IPC that deal with rioting, damage to public property and attempt to murder. Eight persons were arrested on Sunday evening at and from around India Gate for violence and damaging public property.
Four more FIRs have been registered in connection with the violence that erupted during protests in New Delhi area on Saturday and Sunday. Former army chief VK Singh and yoga guru Ramdev were named in one of the FIRs registered on Sunday.
One of the arrested persons, Chaman, is a member of Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi party. The other arrested persons were identified as Shankar Bisht, Nand, Shantanu, Kailash Joshi, Amit Joshi, Abhishek and Nafees Ahmad. All of them were granted bail by a local court.
