On Monday, D’souza reached Gomes’ house at 6.30am after he got a call from Gomes, the police said. “D’souza said that after they chatted for a while, Gomes made physical advances. When D’souza rejected the advances, they had a spat. D’souza stabbed him with a blunt kitchen knife,” said Suresh Kilje, senior inspector of MHB Colony police station.
When Gomes’ father got home at 7.45am, he found his son lying in a pool of blood and rushed him to Bhagwati hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival. The police picked up D’souza from his home after neighbours said they had spotted D’souza with Gomes.
D’souza has been remanded in police custody till Friday.
