Kaur added that when the robbers moved towards Bhupinder, his gunman fired in the air, which scared the robbers and they fled.
"However, Bhupinder and his gunman captured one of the robbers, while others managed to flee. Bhupinder received some bruises, but escaped the attack," she added.
Down-playing the incident, she claimed that the robbery attempt was seemingly the handiwork of drug addicts and could have happened with anyone.
DSP Tejvir Singh said that the robber caught by Bhupinder and his gunmen had been identified as Balbir Singh, a resident of Bhagarian village falling under Bholath police station.
"Two motorcycles have also been seized from the spot. We are trying to locate other attackers. Soon, all of them will be in police custody," he said.
