The trial was to start on Thursday with the first witness, Avinash Solanki, scheduled to depose before the court. However, he failed to turn up.
Keenan and Reuben were attacked outside a popular eatery in Amboli on October 20 when they tried to shield their women friends from a group of hooligans. The hooligans retreated, only to return with more than a dozen others to assault Keenan and Reuben.
Police had arrested four accused in the case — Jitendra Rana, Sunil Bodh, Satish Dulhaj and Dipak Tival.
The fast-track court at Sewri had in October framed charges against the four for murder, conspiracy and molestation.
The prosecution said that the four accused first made lewd comments at the girls in the group. The two youngsters objected and had a scuffle with the accused. The four left the spot and soon returned with more persons and conspired to kill the two boys.
Keenan died on the same day, while Reuben succumbed to multiple stab injuries he had sustained on October 31.
