An encounter broke out between militants and security forces in south Kashmir's Pulwama district on Friday.

Firing is going on in the Chandgam area of Pulwama between security forces and holed up militants, a police spokesman said. Further details of the incident are awaited.

Sources said two Lashkar-e-Taiba militants are holed up in the village.
