While various cosmetic treatments may promise you great hair and skin, there’s perhaps nothing like getting them the natural way, through yoga. Here’s howShoulder-stand
Steps: This must be done under proper supervision of a yoga expert. Lie on your back. Give support
to your hips and back with your palms, and push your legs upwards and make the toes point towards the sky. Rest on your shoulders, neck, back of the head and upper arms, but don’t strain the neck. Keep your air suspended body straight, with the back, hips and legs in one line. Stay for as long as comfortable, and to come back, bring your legs over the head, and with the support of your hands and palms on the hips again, get the legs down. Benefits: Increases blood circulation to the face and scalp region, gives wrinkle free skin, better complexion, and prevents hair fall.
Steps: Lie on your back. Lift your one knee and bend it towards your chest with the help of your hands. Try and make your nose touch your knee. The second leg should remain on the ground. Once you become comfortable, try raising the second leg in the air till 45 degrees. Remain in the pose for around 20 seconds. Then slowly get back and relax. Alternate this with the other leg too. Repeat the round twice.
Benefits: Balances hormonal issues (which can also be responsible for dull skin and hair), clears stomach, releases toxins.
Steps: Lie on your stomach with the palms on the ground by the side of your face. Now arch up your body completely from the hips. Keep the feet together and palms on the ground. Your head should be between the hands looking downwards. Stay for 20 seconds like this and relax. Repeat if required.
Benefits: Glowing skin, better complexion, prevents dark circles, better hair growth, prevents hair fall.
The famous Kapalbhati
Steps: Sit comfortably with your legs crossed, back and neck straight with eyes closed. Exhale forcefully through both the nostrils and pull the stomach in. Inhale normally without much concentration on your inhalation. Start with 30-40 counts and then go up to 100. Relax once done. Feel the sensation flowing all over your body.

Steps: Stand straight with hands up in the air. Bend forward from the hip joints, not from the waist. If possible, with your knees straight, bring your palms or finger tips to the ground slightly in front of or beside your feet. If this isn’t possible, come down enough to hold your feet by the ankles with your hands. Still, don’t overstretch. Come down to a level that is comfortable. Try and keep your head as close to your knees as possible. Stay in the pose for 30 seconds to 40 seconds.
Benefits: Highly beneficial asana for all hair and skin issues.
