Shakira and her boyfriend Gerard Pique, who met on the set of the video for the South Africa World Cup theme song Waka Waka (This Time for Africa), welcomed a baby boy just two days after Christmas.

The 25-year-old Spanish footballer announced the happy news in a tweet to his 4.7 million followers on Thursday, December 27, Us magazine reported.

The message, which was written in Spanish, read “Our son has been born! We are very happy! Thanks to all for your messages.”

The couple first revealed that they were expecting back in September, via Facebook.
