Suspects Heera Singh of Doshanj Kalan and Sanny Singh of Kot Khurd in Jalandhar district are charged with duping the man on the pretext of sending him to Italy. The victim stated that the agents had grabbed his passport and other necessary documents.
The SP marked the inquiry to the deputy superintendent of police of Nihal Singh Wala. "The police have found the allegations to be true, and lodged a case," said Balwinder Singh, assistant sub-inspector of police, city.
The Badhni Kalan police also charged two people with hading fake experience certificate of chef to a young villager of Daudhar Sharki. Complainant Jaspal Kaur said her son, Gurdeep Singh, had gone to Australia on study visa, and after completion of course, needed permanent-residence permit, for which he need to have the experience certificate of chef.
The woman said she had approached Bikramjit Bansal of Daudhar Sharki and he had assured her that his friend, Manpreet Singh of Chheharta in Amritsar district, was a manager in international hotel and he could arrange the credentials for Rs. 1.50 lakh.
SSP Surjit Singh Grewal said the police had found Bikramjit Singh and Manpreet Singh had arranged the fake certificate for Jaspal Kaur. "Manpreet wasn't a manager in any international hotel, and the hotel concerned had not issued any certificate to Gurdeep Singh," the SSP added.The cases were registered under Section 420 (cheating) of the Indian Panel Code (IPC).
