After dismissal of application for anticipatory bail at a lower court in Panchkula, Doon MLA Ram Kumar Chaudhary moved the Punjab and Haryana high court on Friday. The appeal will come up for hearing on Monday. Chaudhary is the prime accused in the Jyoti murder case and was recently elected from Doon constituency of Himachal Pradesh legislative assembly. He is yet to take oath in the legislative assembly.

In his application before the high court, Chaudhary has stated that according to news reports, the Panchkula police did not have corroborated evidence against him and the whole case was based on suspicion due to some mobile calls stated to be between him and the deceased. He further added that the police had failed to ascertain the motive of his involvement in the case.

He said he was ready to join the investigation and clarify the doubts of the investigating team.
