Dismissed sub-inspector Naseeb Singh, who has been booked for abetment to suicide by the police arrested in Urban Estate area of Patiala on Saturday morning. "He has been handed over to AIG (crime) Jaipal Singh for investigation. He will be produced before court seeking police remand," the IG said.

Naseeb Singh who was posted at Badshapur police post, was booked under sections 306 of IPC on the suicide note left by the victim and statements of the family members of the girl.
 
"Sadi sunan wala koi ni maa !"  were the last words of the Patiala rape case victim.

"Sadi sunan wala koi ni, maa!" (there's nobody to listen to us, mother) were the last words of the 18-year-old Patiala gangrape victim, who died by consuming poison on December 26 after being harassed by the police and threatened by the accused.

"She felt defeated by the circumstances. Her biggest complaint was that the police were not paying heed to her complaint," said the victim's mother, who used to accompany her to the police post where cops allegedly asked her how she was raped.

The victim, youngest among four siblings, had been confident of getting justice after a case of rape was registered against the accused   Balwinder, Gurpreet and Sandeep Singh and one Shinderpal Kaur, 14 days after she was raped.
