A girl on a two-wheeler who suffered a head injury after losing her balance over a bumpy manhole in Patel Nagar here on Friday succumbed to her injuries on Saturday. Pankaj Sharma, a BJP leader and the victim's uncle, said the accident of her niece, Dream Sai, had taken place near their house in Patel Nagar.

"City roads are full of such manholes. The municipal corporation should immediately undertake repairs to make the roads even at such places to prevent fatal accidents. Telecom companies which dig up roads but do not bother to repair them should also be taken to task," said Sharma.

Pathankot deputy commissioner Siben C, who is the acting commissioner of the Pathankot municipal corporation, said he was out of station but would immediately ask MC officials to take necessary action after returning to the town.
