A 15-year-old resident of Kotli Sheikhan village is 26-week pregnant. Three men and a minor allegedly raped her over seven months ago.
The girl had not spoken of the incident to anyone, including her family, as she was blackmailed and threatened by the suspects. She was told that a clip of the incident had been made and would be made public, if she informed anyone.

However, her mother noticed the changes in her body and the incident came to light. The police were informed on December 25.

The accused were identified as two brothers Ravi and Maniyal, neighbours of the girl, Gurminder Singh of Begampura village and Ajay of Kotli Sheikhan village.

Bhogpur police station SHO Parminder Singh Bajwa said that all the four accused had been arrested and were booked under Sections 376 (rape), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 34 (more than two persons involved in crime) of the IPC. The SHO added that Ravi, Gurminder Singh and Ajay had been remanded to judicial custody and Maniyal had sent to a juvenile home, as he was a minor.

The girl had been shifted to Nari Niketan, a protection home in Jalandhar, as parents fear for the girl's safety. The SHO added that the accused had confessed to their crime and no video clipping had been recorded.
