The wait for lakhs of students across the country is over as the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) released the datesheet for classes 10 and 12 board examinations. For students in class 12, the board examinations will begin on March 1, with English core, elective and functional. While students belonging to the humanities stream will have little time between their next exam — history which is scheduled for March 4— students from the commerce stream will have ample time to prepare with business studies slated for March 6.

While mathematics is scheduled for March 20, the exams will only draw to a close by April 17. 

For students of class 10 who do not opt for the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation Method (CCE), the exams commence on March 1 with painting, mathematics on March 2 and ends on March 15 with home science.

Schools maintained that the datesheet was fairly balanced.

“The datesheet is fairly balanced. But schools have been training their children to do back-to-back exams and write used to the pace,” said Ameeta Wattal, principal, Springdales School (Pusa Road).
