Janell Hoffman said she wants to ensure that her son does not abuse or become addicted to technology. The agreement controls when he must turn the phone off for the day and forbids ignoring calls from his parents.

The first rule reads — it is my phone. I bought it. I pay for it. I am loaning it to you. Aren’t I the greatest?
