The Hobbit stays on top of international box office
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Voyage holds onto first place at the worldwide box office with $139.4M in earnings for the weekend through December 30, according to Rentrak.
Peter Jackson's film dominates for the third consecutive weekend, now counting earnings of $686.7M across the globe for the eighth-best performance of 2012, ahead of Hunger Games ($686.5M).
Out in nine territories, the musical Les Misérables takes second place with $66.3M. Ang Lee's Life of Pi is next, adding $43M to its coffer, while Jack Reacher, the thriller starring Tom Cruise, is in fourth with $32.1M.
