The owner of the bus in which the 23-year-old woman was gangraped and brutally assaulted on December 16 in Delhi was arrested on Wednesday.

Dinesh Yadav, who is from Sikandar Rao in UP and had first come to Noida in 1991, is accused of submitting false documents for registration of his vehicles.

A close friend of the bus owner said Yadav owned 17 buses and was running 75 buses on contract. Later, he broke his partnership and opened his office in Navada village.

Yadav shut his office and went missing since the incident came to light.

"Yadav closed his shop and started painting his bus as he feared police action," one of his associates said.
