Chahal, was here to participate in the two days NRI enclave organised by the Punjab government starting from January 4.
Chahal urged the Punjab government to assure the overseas Punjabi community members for their property and life security during their visit to Punjab.
"This will help to attract more NRI to invest in Punjab. For the welfare of our state we should think altogether that why the Overseas Punjabi Community is not getting ready to invest in Punjab like the Overseas Gujarati Community is investing in Gujrat," he said.
"Corrupt bureaucracy is the major barrier in over all development of the state for which we had also expressed our views during a meeting with the chief minister of Punjab Parkash Singh Badal in the past," he added.
Appreciating the decision of state for sending the senior police officers delegation to United States and United Kingdom to listen to the concerns of Punjabi community he said, "It has happened for the first time in the history of Punjab and is a very fruitful exercise as the police delegation solved most of the issues and complaints within two months after the completion of their visit."
Chahal urged the Punjab government that this exercise for sending the senior police delegation to overseas should be repeated every year to maintain better relationship between the police and Overseas Punjabi Community.
