The city is experiencing a record breaking chill and there’s no dearth of bon fire and barbecue parties that stress on jackets and overcoats as dress code. For the city’s trendy breed of partygoers, the classy club or the chic-at-work-and-play, a jacket does more than keeping you warm. Here’s how
to update your style file before you zip up.
The hip biker look for women with jackets that accentuate the waist, while adding a swagger to the feminine form, is top of the charts again. Fitter biker jackets in washed vegetable tanned natural grain leather or luxurious fabrics (that add softness to the look with variants in wool, boucle and tweeds) are the trend news.
Bomber jackets for women, in soft perforated leather, is the other hot option for the season. The clean design, and the zipped to the neck style in textured leather or quilted fabrics is stylish.
Sporty n sassy
There is nothing more chic than the androgynous and sporty look for the day time. The sleeveless puffed jackets come reversible with pretty prints on one side and solid colour on the other.
A denim jacket has probably been a staple in your wardrobe since college. And it is the perfect look for a Sunday barbecue. While denim, with its spectacular stitch on show, is a style hard to beat, for a more dressy and trendy look go for the denims in subtle combination with leather and faux fur as patches or trimmings. Military elements like toggles and patches are another popular topic.
Knitted jackets with patterns and prints or in combination with other fabrics like tweed and flannel is what you need for a youthful, modish and playful look. Wear them over flirty skirts and dresses and underline your style with the choicest pair of boots. There you are, ready for a day out with friends.
Black and brown may be a wardrobe essential but when it comes to downright trendy, look for colours this season — moon white, aubergine, royal blue, blue, mustard, cherry red, pink. There is nothing more predictable than black in leather jackets, so break the mould.
