In one of those rare appearances, ex-couple Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Vivek Oberoi attended the wedding of filmmaker Shaad Ali in Mumbai on Sunday. Ash and Vivek were both accompanied by their spouses, actor Abhishek Bachchan and Priyanka Oberoi, respectively.

Ali, who has directed films such as Saathiya, that starred Vivek and Bunty Aur Babli, in which Abhishek played the lead, is the son of filmmaker and designer Muzaffar Ali. He tied the knot with stylist Aarti Patkar, five years after his divorce from ex-wife Shahzneen Hussian.

The online world was abuzz with comments about Ash and Vivek’s presence at the same event. “Aishwarya and Vivek at the same venue hmmn,” wrote Anon on pinkvilla.com.

Ash wore a red Nachiket Barve ombré suit to the wedding, while Abhi chose a white and golden bandhgala.

‘Danced on the streets of Mumbai after a very long time for the baraat of my friend Shaad Ali’s wedding.Was great fun! #MeriYaarKiShaadi,” Abhishek tweeted.

Amitabh Bachchan wrote, ‘The ‘barat’ was Shaad Ali’s, as he gets married to Aarti .. so the entire family joined in for this traditional bearing .. ah ..fun... Weddings are such a special moment ..meeting long lost friends, happy and dressed up in traditional wear. talking of old times ..!’

Others who came to wish the couple were actor Ranveer Singh, who also did a jig for the camera, filmmakers Zoya Akhtar and Rohan Sippy, actor Shabana Azmi with husband, lyricist Javed Akhtar and actor Kirron Kher.
