Paswan said bureaucracy had become powerful under the present dispensation and unfortunately there was no one to look after the problems of common people. He said the role of panchayats had diminished with no one paying heed to the decisions of the grassroots democratic body.
Referring to special status demand of chief minister Nitish Kumar, the LJP president further said it was beyond his comprehension why he failed to put forward the demand earlier instead of pitching it now.
He criticised Nitish for remaining mum on latest outburst of Raj Thackery against people of the state.
On deteriorating law and order he said, the common man was living under constant fear due to rise in criminal activities.
The LJP leader said his party was sensitive to the problems of poor people of the state. "If I am voted to power I would provide four decimal land to all poor people who are landless," he said.
With a view to providing self-employment to poor, the LJP would provide interestfree loan of Rs. 10 lakh with soft realisation provisions he further said.
