Three men who gangraped a village woman (19) twice have received life imprisonment and each will submit Rs. 1 lakh as fine. Kuldeep Singh, Surinder Singh and Hardeep Singh, who have been held guilty, are from Balewala village in Mamdot police jurisdiction of this district.

The men raped the woman twice. After the first time, the village panchayat brokered a compromise but they took advantage of it and raped the victim again on August 16, 2010. District and sessions judge Fatehdeep Singh delivered the verdict here on Wednesday.

If the culprits fail to submit the fine, they will be imprisoned for another two years.
