One of the students from Mumbai is Harishwar Subramanian, 25, an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IITB). The name of the other student, however, was not available, as CAT officials said he had not approved the release of his name to the media.
Of the 10 CAT toppers, eight are current or former students of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). Last year too, of the nine candidates who scored 100 percentile, two were from Mumbai.
"I expected a good score, but 100 percentile was a pleasant surprise," said Sumit Patil, 22, a Pune boy in his final-year at IIT Madras.
Mumbai also had the most students scoring above 99 percentile (180), followed by Delhi (168) and then Bangalore (157).
