The couple said in a statement that they had stopped the newspaper from publishing semi-naked photographs of RocknRoll, which were taken by a friend at a private 21st birthday party a few years ago.
The photos were innocent but embarrassing and that there was no reason to splash them across a newspaper, they said.
The couple added that they recognised that in the internet age privacy was harder to maintain but they would continue doing what they could to protect Winslet’s kids from the results of media intrusion.
